Martin Scorsese and DiCaprio team up AGAIN - Shutter Island

Looking ahead to the next big films of this year, the one that caught my eye and kept my attention is Martin Scorsese's adaptation of Shutter Island, based on Dennis Lahane's book of the same name. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo as well as Ben Kinglsey who is a favourite in any movie. It's only once or twice a year normally that you get films of this calibre released and although the film is yet to be reviewed I can foresee Oscar nominations next year. DiCaprio is yet to win an Oscar despite being nominated 3 times and Scorsese has only been awarded Hollywood's most sought after award once for The Departed (Best Director), also starring Leo DiCaprio. Although both men have come under some criticism by some I truley rate both artists work as a film fan.Hopefully Leo and Martin will get the credit they deserve with this release.

It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He's been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.
